When to investigate?
As an employer, you have a legal duty to investigate if you reasonably suspect unlawful discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. Safety issues also require prompt attention. This duty can be triggered by a formal complaint. But did you know an employer also has a duty any time management receives information or knows (or should know) about unlawful or unsafe activities in its work environment?
Contact us if your organization needs a neutral and objective investigation into suspected misconduct, rules violations, threats made by an employee against others, reports of unsafe working conditions, sudden decline in an employee's morale or behavior or performance issues, or workplace theft.
